Our Wedding // Covenant: Three Years

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

We have shared many weddings with you on this little blog of ours, but today, we will share our favorite wedding of all... Ours.  Today we are celebrating three years of marriage!  Three years ago today our lives changed forever as we made vows before God, our friends and our families,  to lay down our lives for each other and to love one another with our whole hearts.  It was the best day of our lives!  Some days we can't believe how quickly time has gone by, while other days it feels like the 1095 day journey that it has been.  We are here to tell you, that marriage is a beautiful gift.  We have been so blessed, challenged, refined, matured, strengthened and humbled by this journey called marriage and we are better for it every single day.  It hasn't always been easy, in fact, this past year has been one of the most challenging yet, but our God is good and is in control and we join together, as husband and wife, to praise His glorious name as we celebrate our covenant today.  We are so thankful for this beautiful gift and we cannot wait for all that year four holds.

Today we are sharing some of our favorite pictures from our wedding day taken by the amazing Dylan Mayer as we look back and remember how great our God is and how He has blessed us and carried us these past three years.

This is one of my (Arlina's)  favorite pictures from our wedding.  My Pop was diagnosed with cancer the November before our wedding and he set a goal for himself that he would dance at our wedding.  By the time July came around he wasn't doing very well but his doctor allowed him to travel across the country from Delaware to be at our wedding in California.  And here he is, dancing the night away.  Such a sweet memory. He passed away two months after our wedding.  I am so thankful for this picture.

This cigar party was another incentive for my Pop.  My Dad told him that if he made it out for the wedding that all of the men in our family would gather together to celebrate with some of my uncle's finest cigars.  Dylan captured some great images from this little celebration.

Happy Anniversary to my handsome, noble, strong, tender, loving, selfless, precious husband.  I am so thankful for you and the way that you love me.  I cannot wait for the rest of our lives together.  There is no one else I would rather walk through life with than you.  You are my prince charming and I am so blessed to be your wife.  Thank you for loving me and for leading us through this last year.  I love you so much.

Your Arlina Rose
